Following the successful Ocrathlon 200 test competition held in December 2025, World OCR is preparing to organize and coordinate a series of official Ocrathlon events throughout 2026. Initial interest from member organizations and national partners has been strong. Several European countries are currently assessing the feasibility of hosting Ocrathlon 200 competitions during the summer season, and formal discussions are already underway with the Polish member organization. Further announcements will be made as planning progresses.
Introduction of the Ocrathlon 600 Format
In parallel with the expansion of the Ocrathlon 200 format, World OCR will introduce Ocrathlon 600 in 2026. A first test event is scheduled to take place in Hungary in February 2026, followed by the inaugural Ocrathlon 600 World Cup race, planned for late August 2026 in Budapest, Hungary, at a major competition venue. Exact dates and detailed technical information will be communicated in due course.
International Expansion
Beyond Europe, discussions are already underway regarding the organization of future Ocrathlon competitions in additional regions, including Australia.
European Union Funding and Education Programs
World OCR has been awarded a European Union grant, administered through one of its member organizations. As part of this program, World OCR will deliver a comprehensive coaching and referee education initiative for member countries, scheduled for August 2026. This program will support capacity building, technical consistency, and long-term sport development.
Governance and Statutory Developments
World OCR has formally expanded its statutes to include the official definition of Ocrathlon. As a result, World OCR is now fully authorized to govern Ocrathlon internationally, alongside OCR.
