The World OCR Federation is the leading international governing body for Obstacle Course Running (OCR), dedicated to promoting and regulating the sport of OCR.

The World OCR Federation is ensuring standardized rules, high-quality events, and fair competition, World OCR brings OCR athletes together on a global stage.

The OCR World Cup in Hungary is officially recognized, meaning every competitor follows standardized rules and obstacles, ensuring fairness across all OCR World Cup events.

World OCR Athlete Licensing

The OCR Athlete License represents official recognition and certification for athletes within the world of Obstacle Course Running (OCR). It signifies that an athlete meets the necessary standards set by the governing body,  World OCR Federation, to compete in sanctioned events and be part of the global OCR community and rankings.

From 2024 OCR is making the shift towards to become a standalone professional sport, and establishing an athlete licensing system is essential for the sport’s long-term growth and legitimacy.

01.What is the World OCR International Sports Federation?

World OCR, registered under the legal name Fédération Mondiale de Course á Obstacles, is the international governing body for the sport of Obstacle Course Running. The organization is responsible for creating the rules of the sport of OCR, the sanctioning of international events, and ensuring the sport’s proper global development.

Anyone! We have Elite, Age Group, Open, and Relay categories to match all skill levels. You can register here.

03.Do I need experience to join?

Not at all! The Open Race is perfect for first-timers looking for a fun challenge.

04.Where can I register?

05.What should I bring to the event?

We recommend wearing comfortable, durable clothing suitable for running and climbing, as well as shoes with good grip for rough terrain. Don’t forget sunscreen, water, and a positive attitude!

06.Can spectators attend?

Yes! Spectators can watch for free, and there will be additional activities at the venue.

07.What is an Athlete License and who issues it?

An athlete license is an official certification issued by either a National Federation (NF) or an International Sports Federation (ISF). This license grants athletes the eligibility to compete in officially sanctioned competitions, ensuring compliance, fairness, safety, and adherence to standardized rules across a sport.

For OCR, although other international associations – with apparently similar functions – may operate within the sport, athlete licenses are issued solely by World OCR, the only legally registered organization serving as the International Sports Federation for OCR. This means that for athletes to compete within the official framework of the sport, a license from World OCR is required, ensuring they are part of a globally regulated and consistent competitive sports environment.
