World OCR is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Judit Maklári-Papp as the new General Secretary of the organization. A lawyer by profession, Dr. Maklári-Papp brings a wealth of experience from her distinguished career in both the legal field and the world of OCR, making her an exceptional addition.
Dr. Maklári-Papp has been a key figure in the development and governance of OCR in Hungary and Europe. She previously served as the General Secretary of the European Obstacle Sports Federation and is currently a Board Member of the Hungarian OCR Association (HOCRA) and President of the Hungarian Obstacle Course Running Federation (HOCRF). Additionally, she played a central role as one of the Race Directors for the 2023 OCR European Championships in Tata, Hungary. Her leadership roles in these capacities have provided her with a comprehensive understanding of the organizational, regulatory, and competitive dimensions of the sport, at both national and international levels.
As an active athlete, Dr. Maklári-Papp also brings the perspective of OCR Athletes to the highest level of decision-making, ensuring that their voices are genuinely heard, and taken into consideration. This athlete-centered vision, coupled with her extensive legal background, enables her to effectively address the complexities of international governance, compliance, and policy development in the evolving field of OCR.
Her work in Hungary and Europe has consistently demonstrated her ability to navigate the multifaceted landscape of sports administration and to advocate for the needs and interests of the OCR community. Dr. Maklári-Papp’s efforts have been instrumental in fostering collaboration, building infrastructure to support federations, and driving initiatives aimed at the global recognition of OCR as a standalone sport.
As General Secretary of World OCR, Dr. Maklári-Papp will focus on advancing the organization’s mission of supporting national federations, facilitating the sport’s growth, and strengthening its international recognition.
